Respite Accommodation, Smithton
Rural Health Tasmania provide a purpose built four bedroom house created to accommodate persons in a wheelchair or with limited mobility for respite or short term accommodation. The house has extra wide hallways, doorways, two living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms all at ground level.

Rural Health Tasmania does not employ support workers however we can direct you to other organisations and individuals who can assist with this service.
There are 3 accommodation options:
The house can be booked to accommodate two different groups of people needing respite at any one time, or the entire house can be booked – depending on your needs. Available spaces are:
West wing: comprises 1x Queen Bed room for carer/support worker and 1x twin share room (1 single bed and one hospital bed), a disability access bathroom and shared access to full kitchen, dining room, loungeroom, sitting room and laundry
East wing: comprises 1x Double Bed room for carer/support worker and 1x twin share room (1 single bed and one hospital bed), a disability access bathroom and shared access to full kitchen, dining room, loungeroom, sitting room and laundry
Entire house: comprises 1x Queen Bed room, 1x Double Bed room and 2x twin share rooms (1 single bed and one hospital bed in each room), 2x disability access bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room, loungeroom, sitting room and laundry
